60 years of EAACI - on the road to prevention and healthy living

Awareness raising events

To celebrate its 60th Anniversary, in 2016 EAACI has launched an awareness raising campaign dedicated to prevention and healthy living.

Inspired by the campaign slogan “On the road to prevention and healthy living”, throughout 2016 a series of events and informational activities will be organised across Europe to raise awareness of the importance of improving prevention and allergy care, as well as support the allocation of resources and the development of Allergy Speciality.

The events will target not only EAACI members, but also policy makers, national and international health stakeholders, and patient organisations, with the aim of reframing the current conversation: from disease as a burden towards the chance for a healthy life.

In line with these objectives, from 26-28 April EAACI co-organised with the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA) the Exhibition “Test Your Allergies 2016” in the European Parliament in Brussels. During the “Test, inform, prevent” part of the event, over 400 members of the public, including MEPs, were tested and those involved were informed about how allergies can be diagnosed, managed and prevented. National Societies activities
The campaign has also received strong support from the EAACI national societies, who have joined the initiative with a series of inspiring events and awareness raising activities in their own countries:

Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology event in Prague  - 5 May 2016

Bulgarian Society of Allergology event in Sofia - 10 May 2016

More exciting events are scheduled for this year. Keep coming back to discover how EAACI and its members are promoting prevention and healthy living across Europe.
