Task Force Project: 'The potential of anti-infectives as therapies for asthma and asthma exacerbations'
Infections play an important role in the development of asthma and as a trigger of asthma exacerbations. While there are many data regarding the role of viruses and other kind of microbes in asthma pathogenesis, there is little emphasis on the potential effectiveness of anti-infective agents in the treatment and prevention of asthma and asthma exacerbations.
The Infection and Allergy Interest Group has conducted 'The potential of anti-infectives as therapies for asthma and asthma exacerbations' Task Force Project in order to address this important clinical question that may become the basis of further guidelines on asthma and asthma exacerbation prevention and treatment.
