Goal of the IG on Food Allergy
The major goal of the IG on Food Allergy is to provide a platform for clinicians, scientists and experts from the nutrition sciences to gain more insights into the mechanisms underlying the development, treatment and prevention of food allergy in order to reduce the number of individuals suffering from this disease.
Our main objectives are:
- To better understand the cause and development of food allergies
- To continue the characterization of the disease-eliciting factors
- To further improve the diagnosis of food allergy
- To translate results from basic science to applications for the patients with food allergy
- To develop efficient and safe approaches for the treatment of food allergy
- To develop concepts for the prevention food allergy in the future
