The evolution of allergic disease and the potential immunoregulatory mechanisms of allergen immunotherapy have always been my area of interest.
After completing my residency in paediatrics I began my training in allergy at Imperial College London. I obtained my MSc. in Allergy under the guidance of Prof. John Warner and his team at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
I did my thesis for Imperial College on the epidemiology of house dust mite on the XXI century and had the pleasure of being tutored by Dr. Moises Calderón.
Currently in Barcelona, I am a paediatric allergy clinical fellow and my training involves a large number of respiratory and food allergic children undergoing aeroallergen and food allergen immunotherapy. My ongoing areas of research include house dust mite immunotherapy in asthmatic children and tolerance induction through milk and egg baked goods.
I had the honour of receiving the EAACI research fellowship to study the characteristics of patients who achieve sustained unresponsiveness after oral food immunotherapy with milk or egg. The project will be carried out at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona with Dr. Montserrat Alvaro-Lozano as my supervisor.
As part of the junior member board I will aim to promote knowledge of immunotherapy among EAACI juniors and encourage collaboration projects that involve different worldwide allergy societies to promote guidelines and standardization of immunotherapy in the clinical practice.
