I studied Medicine at Medical University of Pisa, Italy where I graduated in 2007 with a thesis entitled “Management of Rhinitis in childhood”.
I did my residency in Pediatric in University of Florence, Italy. During my residency I spent one year (2012-2013) as reserch Fellow at Allergy Laboratory of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to study the immunologic mechanism of eosinophilic esophagitis in humans and in murin model. In April 2013, I achived the United States licensing, released by Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). In June 2014, I completed my residency with a thesis entitled “Basophil activation test in the diagnosis of drug hypersensitivity: comparison between children and adults” and became a Board Certified Pediatrician in Italy. For the following year I was engaged in Allergy Unit of Anna Meyer Children’s Hospital as Medical Doctor directed by Prof. Elio Novembre. In January 2017 I completed the Master in Immunology and Pediatric Allergology at the University of Florence.
All along my residency my main area of scientific interest has been drug and food allergy.
I have been a junior member of the EAACI since 2014 and have attended every annual congress since then. As representative of the Food Allergy Interest Group of JM I want to help colleagues to build up cooperation with basic researchers. On the other hand I would like to interact with basic researchers to reinforce and facilitate clinically relevant hypotheses.
I'm honoured to be part of the EAACI family and it is a pleasure to actively support and shape the EAACI community within next two years.
