After I got my medical degree in Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain (2000-2005), I did my residency in Allergy in Hospital Gregorio Marañón, in Madrid. Since the beginning of my training, I have been linked to the Pediatric Allergy Unit. This has led me to collaborate with Pediatric research activities, specially those concerning Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis. I fulfilled my training in 2011 and, since 2013, I am part of the Pediatric Allergy Unit, where I work full-time as a consultant. I also act as a residents mentor. I obtained my PhD in 2015, presenting a work titled "Anaphylaxis in the Emergency Department: Incidence, Diagnosis and Management", which studied the presentation and triggers of anaphylaxis among adult and pediatric patients.
I am a member of the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, where I serve as Chairperson of the Junior Members. I have also been able to channel part of my computing and networking passion through this Society, where I act as webmaster and social media coordinator.
I became a member of EAACI in 2009. Since then, I have participated in different EAACI activities. In 2015 I was chosen JM representative of the Epidemiology IG. During this time I have been part of the Mentorship Program and the Congresses operational groups. I have also tried to assist EAACI with my knowledge of the Internet and Social Media, collaborating with updates from the EAACI accounts during congresses and about Pediatric Allergy and Immunology publications. Last year, I became a member of the mHealth TF, led by Prof. Matricardi. I have also been offered the opportunity to serve as an Associate Editor in Clinical and Translational Allergy.
As JM Assembly secretary, my special intentions are:
- Support JM’s needs, with a special interest in education.
- Collaborate with the organization of JM-dedicated sessions in EAACI congresses and focused meetings.
- Promote the relationship and combined work among JM and between JM and seniors, supporting and enhancing the JM Mentorship Program.
- Facilitate collaboration projects involving Junior Members from different countries.
- Continue the efforts started by previous JM Assembly boards.
