I studied Medicine at the Medical University of Graz (Austria) where I graduated in 2008. After a research fellowship (6 months) with Prof. H. Stammberger I started my residency at the Department of General Otorhinolaryngology in Graz in 2009. In 2012 I started my PhD studies focusing on Allergic Rhinitis and Nasal Mucus Proteome. Here, I investigate the role of nasal mucus as defense barrier and the interaction of pollen proteins with nasal mucus proteins and to shed light on possible functional deficits in allergic mucus proteome. In 2010 I became a Junior Member of the EACCI and attended the SERIN meeting in Brussels the same year. After that I frequently attended the EAACI congresses and focused meetings (SERIN, Allergy schools) with several Poster- and Oral presentations. The interaction with the EAACI and colleagues that I met throughout the years really helped me a lot in shaping my scientific (and clinical) career. In 2014 I was promoted to Assistant Professor at the ENT department of the Medical University of Graz continuing my research with special focus on Proteomics and its application in Allergic rhinitis where I finished my PhD in December 2015. Before that I had the opportunity to spend 6 months in Amsterdam at the AMC with a EAACI research fellowship. In March 2017 I finished my tenure track and was promoted to Associate Professor.

As representative of the ENT Section in the JM Board form 2015-2017 I coordinated the JM-CTA collaboration where we managed to launch new initiatives like a JM reviewer call and the publication of a JM-CTA editorial. With the ENT-section e.g. we managed to successfully organize a SERIN meeting several symposia during the EAACI annual congress as well as the ERS congress and to hold the first hands-on PG course on diagnostic endoscopy in Vienna in 2016. Also in the present term I want to help clinically active colleagues to establish their scientific career sharing ideas and building up cooperation with basic researchers. On the other hand I would like to interact with basic researchers to reinforce and facilitate clinically relevant hypotheses. Within the EAACI I would like to interact more with the IG OMICS and Systems Medicine. Since I am a Board Member of the Junior association within the European Rhinologic Society I would like to strengthen cooperation and international exchange here too.

In addition to that is important for me to help building up contacts between JMs and renowned researchers for national and international collaborations, fellowships and training courses.
